The Lifecycle of a Fine Art Print: From File to Gallery Wall
Printing fine art isn’t just “hit print and hope.” Each step — from file prep to framing — determines whether your finished piece truly reflects your vision. At French Broad Imaging, we treat every print like it’s headed to a gallery.
Printing fine art isn’t just “hit print and hope.” Each step — from file prep to framing — determines whether your finished piece truly reflects your vision. At French Broad Imaging, we treat every print like it’s headed to a gallery.
Step 1: File Check & Color Management
We start by reviewing resolution, color profile, and file format. A quick look at your digital file ensures sharp, clean results that can hold up at any size.
Step 2: Proofing & Paper Selection
Before the final print, we produce a small proof. This lets you see how your colors translate to paper — and choose from our curated papers like Hahnemühle Photo Rag or Canon Lustre.
Step 3: Printing with Precision
Using pigment-based inks and calibrated printers, we reproduce tones and textures accurately. It’s where art leaves the screen and becomes tangible.
Step 4: Finishing Touches
Once printed, we can mount, mat, or frame your work using acid-free materials. Every detail supports longevity and presentation quality.
Step 5: Display & Care
We provide guidance on lighting, humidity, and framing glass to help your artwork look its best for decades.
